Along with the executives seperate to the society, there is the active position of the LGBT officer.
The LGBT officer is elected by all students rather than just the society members. They represent LGBT students in the university, and along with attending committee meetings with the union execs and sabbatical officers they have more contact with the NUS. Successfully linking the LGBT students to these bodies helps our voices be heard, particularly with equality and diversity.
The LGBT officer also supports events put on by the society throughout the year - within the union, locally and nationally.
